My name is Michael Dolan. I am a small independent bike shop with a focus on bicycle repair and service. Tune-ups, suspension service, flat tires, and hydraulic brake work are the more common issues I see. If you have an issue feel free to give me a call. I have 10 years experience as a bicycle mechanic and have worked on most everything from the beginning of the 20th century to the most contemporary Di2 drivetrain. I am proud to be a member of the Professional Bicycle Mechanics Association in addition to being the Mechanic of the week in October 2016.
I started riding as a kid like most people do. I continued riding and fixing bikes until I was run over by a truck in high school. I stopped riding for a number of years till moving to Boston. I got back into riding and into fixing when I became a bicycle courier. The winters were cold so I found an inside job building bikes and did that for a number of years just to be in a shop. When my wife decided to go back to school we moved to Austin, a bit of a homecoming for me. I hopped back in the shop as a technician. I was lucky to learn from a lot of smart people and see a lot of different parts of the industry.
I started working at a number of different shops since everyone has their own style and specialty. Some of them include: The Peddler, East Side Pedal Pushers, Lake Travis Cyclery, and Clowndog Bikes. Without these people I would not be where I am to know or know as much as I do.
